Counseling

As part of our commitment to establish adequate support services, DSS provides confidential and culturally appropriate counseling services. To help students overcome personal and academic challenges, the Student Counselor offers walk-in counseling services.

The Student Counselor serves as a resource person for students by providing advice and guidance on issues such as making new friends, adapting to local cultural norms, homesickness. Additionally, students will often come to the Student Counselor when they are worried about a classmate or a roommate, or when they have difficulties in preparing speeches, papers, etc.

The Student Counselor develops on-going series of life skills workshops such as exam stress, time-management skills, interaction skills and more. In conjunction with other Student Services team members the Student Counselor develops and implements activities to promote a multicultural environment.
