Executive – Human Resources

University of Dubai is a fast growing institution of higher education with a wide range of academic, research and training programs in Business and Information Technology. The University of Dubai is part of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its academic degree programs are recognized by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The programs at the CBA were recently re-accredited by AACSB International.

The Human Resources Department is looking for a bilingual Executive – Human Resources, with 3-5 years of experience as generalist in Human Resources. The University invites interested applicants for immediate commencement of employment. A candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management and previous employment within academic institutions will be a plus.

Position Summary:
Provides professional human resource services to assigned university colleges/departments and employees including: benefits, classification, compensation, employee relations, employment services, UD policies, and salary planning. Advises and consults with managers on employee and human resources issues.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Reviews university human resources policies and procedures; determines actions to be taken and advises department heads, employees and the public on what actions must be taken; may also function in an informational role in areas where specific advice is not needed.
  2. Investigates circumstances surrounding disciplinary actions; informs departments of procedural policy; advises if an exception to policy is warranted; assists in the mediation of employee grievances.
  3. Communicates the UAE MOHESR requirements to selected candidates and guides them on completing the required documents to obtain the Ministry approval.
  4. Coordinates the relocation formalities including issuing visa, purchasing air-tickets (or cash in lieu), pick up at the airport and hotel accommodation.
  5. Performs routine data input into a computerized human resources information system to establish and update applicant and employee records and benefits information.
  6. Receives, reviews, ensures the accuracy and completeness of, compile and/or maintain human resource data, documents and records such as leave and salary records and employee data forms.
  7. Review, complies and recommends group medical and life insurance policies. Serves as point of contact to insurance providers.
  8. Serves as the point of contact with university's legal counsel for all relevant issues.

Position Required Skills:

  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of human resource administration
  • Knowledge of automated payroll processes and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office program

Assistant, Associate and Full Professors, College of Business Administration (CBA)

The programs at the CBA were recently re-accredited by AACSB International.

The CBA is looking for Assistant, Associate and Full Professors, and invites interested applicants for commencement of employment in August/September 2015. A candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree from AACSB/EFMD accredited universities in the following areas:

  • Leadership & Human Resources Management
  • General Management
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Economic (with special emphasis on Econometrics and Islamic Economics)
  • Logistics & Supply Chain Management
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation

A significant record that combines teaching experience with a research and scholarship record that warrants appointment as an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor are required. Experience of 5 + years in managerial capacity in relevant industry is preferred.

A candidate must also have at least 3-4 publications in appropriate refereed international journals in English in the last five years.

Candidates are also expected to have effective oral and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary collegial environment. Application review will begin immediately. Distinguished Professors from AACSB/EQUIS accredited universities can also apply for 1 year stint at UD if they are planning sabbatical.

The Centre for Executive Development (CED) at University of Dubai is in search for Professional trainers/industry practitioners in the field of Management, Accounting, Finance & Banking, Soft Skills, Leadership & Human Resource Management, Sales & Marketing, Procurement & Supply, etc.
